Q What's different about NPAQ? A We are run by nurses, not union officials so there's no party politics. Issues are resolved effectively and we are half the price. Q Will I automatically get Professional Indemnity Insurance with my membership? A Yes.  Up to $10 million cover for private or public employee nurses (special conditions for midwives). Self-employed nurses need separate cover. Q Is legal advice and protection provided in my membership? A Yes.  The Association is backed by the resources of Sajen Legal.  This means real support when you need it. Q Does any money go to support party political campaigns or fighting funds? A No.  This is why our membership fees are so low. Q Will NPAQ handle major payroll disputes, problems and enterprise bargaining? A Yes. We will investigate any work related systems, procedures or services which impact our members including negotiating your EB.  We guarantee a resolution for our members. Q Does NPAQ Support CPD needs of nurses? A Yes.  We recommend and provide access to the "Nurses for Nurses" network online training system.  CPD is an extra $8 per month. Q  How do you handle workplace issues between two members? A Both will be represented by independent third parties. Q Can non-nursing staff join the Association? A Full membership is only for nurses and Allied Health Professionals.  Other support employees may join as affiliates. Q Is membership tax deductible? A Yes
